The seventh annual Race to Stop the Silence on April 23, 2011 is an 8K race, 5K fun run, and 1K kids' fun run. The 8K is a flat, fast course through Washington, D.C., starting at Freedom Plaza (Pennsylvania Avenue NW between 13th and 14th streets, Washington, DC 20004). The 5K is similar but shorter. The Race has great winner awards (overall first, second, and third, and the prizes in age groups -- 15-19, 20-29, 30-39,40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and over, as well as random prizes. All kids in the kids fun run get prizes. There will be speakers and informational booths as well. The Race is accessible by car and Metro (Metro Center -- Red, Blue, and Orange, and Federal Triangle - Blue and Orange).
