Obesity Leveled Off in U.S., Except Among Boys

A recent CDC report may give Americans cause for cheer. It suggests that we have finally turned a corner in our fight against obesity, which has leveled off across most of the population -- except one group: 6- to 19-year-old boys.

Dr. Gautham Rao, clinical director of the Weight Management and Wellness Center at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, where he is also an associate professor at the School of Medicine, explained why obesity is still increasing among boys. He spoke with NAM health editor Viji Sundaram. - New America Media
